ReSpec Terms of Service
CurrentArticle 1 (Purpose)
These Terms govern the conditions of use of the services provided by ReSpec, operated by Potential Labs Inc. (the "Company") — including AI resume feedback, an AI chatbot, personalized education recommendations, and job-posting services (the "Service") — and the rights and obligations between the Company and users.
Article 2 (Definitions)
- "Company": Potential Labs Inc., which operates the Service.
- "Service": all features under the ReSpec brand provided by the Company, including AI resume feedback, the AI chatbot, education recommendations, and job postings.
- "User": a person who has agreed to these Terms and created an account.
- "Content": resumes and other files uploaded to the Service by the user.
Article 3 (Effect and Amendment of the Terms)
- These Terms take effect when posted on the Service screen or notified by email.
- The Company will give notice 7 days before any change to these Terms takes effect, and the change history is available at /terms/history. However, where a change materially affects or is unfavorable to users' rights and obligations, notice will be given 30 days before the effective date.
Article 4 (Use of the Service)
- The Service is available after completing the sign-up process.
- Users must not upload another person's resume or information without authorization.
- AI feedback results are for reference only; the Company does not guarantee their completeness or accuracy.
Article 5 (Prohibited Conduct)
Users must not engage in any of the following:
- Registering false information or signing up by misappropriating another person's information.
- Abnormal use of the Service (automated scraping, unauthorized API calls, etc.).
- Unauthorized redistribution of job or educational content.
Article 6 (Intellectual Property and Use of Data)
- Intellectual property rights in the Company's own work — including the UI, design, software code, and Company-designed prompts — belong to the Company. (However, rights in the external AI models themselves that are integrated to operate the Service belong to their respective providers.)
- Copyright in a resume uploaded by a user belongs to the user, and the Company uses it solely for the purpose of providing the Service.
- The Company never uses data uploaded by users to train external AI models.
Article 7 (Service Suspension and Limitation of Liability)
- The Company may temporarily suspend the Service for reasons such as system maintenance or equipment replacement, in which case it will give advance notice through Service announcements, etc. However, in the case of unforeseeable failures or where urgent action is required, notice may be given afterward.
- Except as specifically provided by applicable law, the Company is not liable in connection with use of the Service. However, payment and refunds for paid services are governed by applicable laws and the Company's Refund & Cancellation Policy.
- The Company does not guarantee the final outcome of job postings or education recommendations, and is not liable in any way for the results of a user's direct decisions, including any failure to obtain employment or personnel disadvantage arising from the use of AI feedback or recommendations.
Article 8 (Participation in User Research)
- The Company may ask users to participate in interviews, surveys, etc. to improve the Service.
- Participation is voluntary, and declining does not disadvantage a user's use of the Service.
- Separate prior consent is obtained before recording interviews.
Article 9 (Account Termination)
Users may withdraw at any time by deleting their account within the Service or contacting customer support. Upon withdrawal, the user's personal data is, in principle, destroyed without delay. However, where retention is required by applicable law, it is stored for the period prescribed by that law; details follow the Privacy Policy.
Article 10 (Use Restrictions and Age)
Users must be at least 14 years old; children under 14 are restricted from signing up for and using the Service.
Article 11 (Paid Services and Recurring Payments)
- The Company provides paid services such as unlimited resume feedback and AI cover-letter writing; products and prices are shown on the Service's payment (pricing) screen.
- Paid products are divided into one-time access passes and the monthly subscription (auto-renewing). The types, access periods, and prices of the products currently offered are shown on the pricing screen and in the Refund & Cancellation Policy.
- The monthly subscription is automatically charged (renewed) each month using the payment method registered by the user, and the user may cancel at any time via My Account > Subscription / Pass or customer support. Upon cancellation, no further charges are made from the next billing date, and the user may continue to use the Service for the remainder of the billing cycle already paid for.
- Specific matters regarding payment, cancellation, and refunds follow the Company's Refund & Cancellation Policy.
Article 12 (Free Trial Passes)
- The Company may offer trial passes (trial codes or trial links) that let users use the paid services free of charge for a limited period, for events, partnerships, promotions, and the like. The access period and the number of people who may redeem each trial pass differ by pass and are shown on the redemption screen.
- Trial passes are free and do not require registering a payment method. When the access period ends, the pass ends automatically without any charge, and it is never automatically converted into, or charged as, a paid product.
- Each trial pass may be redeemed once per person. A trial pass cannot be redeemed by a user who is already using Pro (through a paid product or another trial pass) or who still has an active recurring payment connected.
- A trial pass may have a redemption deadline, and it cannot be redeemed after that deadline or once its number of available redemptions has been used up.
- If a user redeems or attempts to redeem a trial pass by improper means (such as creating multiple accounts, or distributing or selling codes without authorization), the Company may restrict its use or withdraw the access period already granted.
Article 13 (Governing Law and Jurisdiction)
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, and the Seoul Central District Court has jurisdiction over any dispute.
Addendum
These Terms apply from October 23, 2026. (v1.4: added Article 12 (Free Trial Passes) and moved the former Article 12 (Governing Law and Jurisdiction) to Article 13.)
